Filipino Sisig

Description

Replace pork with a plant-based protein in this traditional Filipino dish. Sisig works well as both a snack or a main entree.

Ingredients

Paste
1⁄2 cup Low Sodium Soy 1/3 cup Sugar
1 Lemongrass Stalk
1, 1" Piece Ginger
2 Cloves Garlic
1⁄2 tsp. Cracked Black Pepper
Finish

1 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
1 lb. PlantFareTM, thawed
1⁄2 Small Yellow Onion, diced
1 Serrano Pepper, ribs/seeds removed
1 Tbsp. Calamansi Lime (traditional) or Lime Juice 1 Tbsp. Soy 1 Egg
1 Bay Leaf

Directions

Puree all of the paste ingredients.
In a cast iron skillet, add oil over medium heat.
Add the paste and bay leaf, stir in for two minutes.
Add the PlantFareTM, onion and serrano pepper.
Sauté for 10 minutes, tossing in the paste over medium heat.
Crack egg on top and let cook from heat of Sisig, should be runny.
Drizzle soy and lime juice.
Serve with steamed white rice.
